So much to say...

Wow. It's been over a month since I've posted last. I feel like so much has happened. Where should I even begin? Well... After six days in the car and a little over 3,000 miles I made it to Portland. Shortly after arriving I started the new position I transferred out here with. A month flew by and I was still sleeping on a couch. A friend and I drove out here together, but we've recently parted ways. So basically I'm homeless and searching my butt off for an apartment I can afford on my own. Nothing has really gone according to plan, but I'm not really complaining. I just keep telling myself it could always be worse. I have a job, a car, some awesome co-workers, and a lot of my blog friends have reached out to help me in this tough situation. I'm definitely keeping a positive attitude. And you know what? I've realized how strong I really am. Everyone and everything I know is on the other side of the country and I'm alone, but I'm okay. Eventually things will settle down and I'll be able to relax.

So, I'll leave you with some pictures I've taken on Instagram since I've been out here. Do you have an Instagram? Let's be friends! My username is artich0ke :]

  4. I'm so happy that you are trying to keep staying! I'm sure it's hard to live in a new place, but I've always loved Portland so I'm really hoping that you will love it too!

Try looking on Craigslist for roommates. I've found several that way and there are always a lot of people looking in Portland because there are so many colleges in the area. You could always check bulletin boards at grocery stores and college campuses - sometimes people post things there too for rooms.

  5. This is the first time reading your blog and can I say what a great first impression. I'm a new blogger and keep hearing about all the amazing people floating around in the blogosphere. You seem to know first hand just how wonderful and supportive these people, "friends" can be. Keep smiling and believing in yourself and you will definitely do great things. Also, Portland look so beautiful... Enjoy!

  9. We're so close by now! What's your price range for an apartment? Some of the apartments in Portland can be WAAAY too pricey just because they're IN Portland, but living is cheaper in Tualatin, Tigard and Beaverton. We live in Wilsonville, wish is just a dash farther from Portland but not as cheap as Tualatin. I hope you find someplace soon!
